About this Auction
iSold It of Dallas is selling on eBay a live tree
bearing what thousands of people believe is an image
of the Virgin Mary (la Virgen de Guadalupe) on its
trunk. The tree, located in the front yard of a
private home in South Dallas, stands about 50 feet
tall and is about two feet in diameter. The image,
which appears to be of the robed and hooded Virgin
clasping her hands in prayer, is slightly over four
feet tall.

Donation to Charity
The owners of the tree have told us that they
plan to donate a total of at least 10 percent of
their net proceeds from the sale of the tree to
these three charities:
- Habitat for Humanity International,
to help another needy family realize their dream
of owning their own home;
- The Salvation Army, because this
organization helped the family in their own time
of need; and
- The family’s local church.

Tree Moving/Removal Service
The winner of this
auction must select his or her own contractor to
remove or relocate the tree, at the buyer's expense.
One company that specializes in nationwide large
tree moving is the
Davey Tree Expert Company, but any reputable
contractor may be used provided that the terms of
sale in the auction and all local laws and
ordinances are complied with. |
